About the job

 Reporting to the Sales Manager WA, Motion Australia, we are currently seeking a reliable and skilled Battery Builder &amp; Service Technician to join our team in Canning Vale. This is a hands-on position responsible for building, installing, servicing and maintaining industrial batteries and charging systems, while delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service.

What will your daily responsibilities include in this role?
Install, maintain and repair batteries, chargers and associated equipment
Diagnose and rectify faults on both company and competitor products
Install and connect chargers and related systems to meet customer requirements
Conduct impedance testing and monitor equipment performance
Perform site surveys and prepare detailed technical reports
Assemble, rebuild and install batteries in line with OEM specifications and Exide SOPs
Ensure all battery builds meet strict quality standards and exceed manufacturer requirements
Strip and prepare battery trays for rebuild and reassembly
Meet daily production targets and ensure timely delivery to customers
Manage stock, including monitoring usage, and maintain accurate job records using company systems (e.g handheld/iPad devices)
Provide customer support, including product training and demonstrations.
Maintain service vehicles, tools and equipment to ensure first-time fix capability
Maintain a clean, organised warehouse and contribute ideas to improve efficiency
 
What we ask for:
Minimum 2 years of industry experience as a Battery Builder, Technician, Storeperson, in electrical/mechanical servicing or a related field
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Certificate IV or Diploma in Technician work or a related field
Ability to effectively understand the customer and their requirements en
High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer-focused attitude
Current driver’s licence
Forklift licence essential
Formal qualifications in a related trade advantageous

About the job:
To provide service support to customers within a designated area, including installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and adherence to safety standards.
What will your daily responsibilities include in this role?
Carry out installation, repair, and maintenance of batteries, chargers, and associated equipment.
Diagnose faults and perform corrective repairs on both company and competitor equipment.
Install and connect chargers and related systems in line with customer requirements.
Conduct testing (e.g., discharge and impedance testing) and monitor equipment performance.
Carry out site surveys and produce detailed technical reports.
Ensure all work is completed in line with Health &amp; Safety regulations.
Provide customers with guidance on safe and effective use of products.
Maintain accurate job records using company systems (e.g., handheld/iPad devices).
Support customer training and product demonstrations where required.
Ensure service vehicle is stocked and maintained to enable first-time fix.
Promote company products and services professionally at all times.
