We are seeking a motivated Assistant Accountant to join our finance team and support the day-to-day financial operations of the business. Reporting to the Accountant Australasia and working closely with the Senior Accountant and Director of Finance, this role offers excellent exposure to financial accounting, reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, taxation, cash flow management, and process improvement initiatives.

Key Role Responsibilities
Assist with monthly management reporting, including P&amp;L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow reporting, and variance analysis.
Support month-end close activities through general ledger, bank, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations.
Manage and provide backup support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
Assist with cash flow monitoring, forecasting, fixed asset accounting, and maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register.
Support tax compliance activities, including GST, Payroll Tax, and FBT reporting.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, audits, and ad-hoc financial analysis.
Identify and support opportunities for process improvement, automation, and finance systems enhancements.
Provide general financial and administrative support to the finance team and contribute to projects and other duties as required.


About You
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
1–3 years' experience in an accounting, finance, or commercial environment desirable.
Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and Office 365 skills, with experience using ERP systems.
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders.
Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn within a fast-paced environment.
Working towards a CPA or CA qualification is advantageous but not essential.

Key Role Responsibilities
Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, strong internal controls, and resolution of complex queries.
Prepare month-end journals, reconciliations, and financial reporting outputs, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger and compliance with group reporting deadlines.
Produce management reports, budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, and performance insights to support business decision-making.
Monitor revenue, costs, margins and overall financial performance across business units.
Support compliance with internal controls, policies, and financial governance frameworks.
Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives within the finance function.
Contribute to ERP implementation and finance systems projects, providing input into process design and optimisation.
Assist with statutory reporting, external audits, and taxation requirements, including GST, BAS, FBT, and Payroll Tax obligations.
Participate in cross-functional business projects and provide broader support to the finance team and senior management as required.

About You
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
CA or CPA qualified (or working towards completion)
3–5 years' experience in audit, business services, or financial accounting, ideally seeking a first move into a commercial environment
Strong technical accounting, reporting, and reconciliation skills
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and Office 365 skills, with experience using ERP systems
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across the business
