Job title

AP005-ENGINEER II APPLICATIONS M/F

Profile

Collaborate proactively with the Exide Sales Team to build strong customer relationships, helping to reduce technical delays and enhance overall project efficiency.

Liaise with customers throughout all stages of the Application Project to ensure complete and accurate capture of technical requirements.

Work closely with the Application Development Engineer to support and resolve production-related issues swiftly and effectively.

Coordinate with the Advanced Batteries Team (ABT) Technical Office to ensure correct application specifications and accurate Bills of Material.

Respond promptly to customer technical enquiries and issues, ensuring timely and professional resolution.

Provide on-site support for installations, including both scheduled and unscheduled follow-up visits.

Deliver in-country training sessions for technical support staff as required, ensuring high levels of technical competence and customer service. Offer remote support and clear next steps for field issues when on-site presence is not feasible.

Lead and manage rapid-response claims handling activities within the region.

Partner with the Regional Business Development Manager (BDM) to gain a deep understanding of customer applications and optimize Exide’s energy storage solutions for mutual benefit.

Collaborate with ABT to continuously refine and adapt the product portfolio to better meet evolving customer needs and expectations.

Collect and analyse technical data from customer feedback, industry conferences, publications, and other sources to contribute to a comprehensive competitive landscape study.

Required Skills:

  • Degree-level education in Engineering (University or Technical College).

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical and/or mechanical systems engineering.

  • Solid understanding of battery technologies, with a focus on Lithium-Ion and Battery Management Systems (BMS).

  • Familiarity with data bus integration protocols such as CAN and RS485.

  • Experience in industrial and automotive electric vehicle applications.

  • Knowledge of electric motors and drive systems is a strong advantage.

  • Hands-on experience in an electrical testing environment.

  • Exposure to battery systems ranging from low to high voltage (12V to 600V DC) is desirable.
