Your mission will be:
The Director of Product Management and Application Engineering will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our battery product lines. This leadership position requires a strategic thinker with deep expertise in battery technologies. The ideal candidate will drive product innovation, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure that our offerings meet market demands while adhering to regulatory standards.
What will your daily responsibilities include in this role?
- Establish and communicate a clear vision for product management and application engineering that aligns with the company’s overall strategic goals.
- Develop comprehensive product roadmaps for lead-acid and lithium battery technologies, focusing on both current offerings and future innovations.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape dynamics. Focus on applications within BESS, electric vehicles (EVs), and industrial sectors.
- Engage with key customers and stakeholders to gather feedback on product performance and identify opportunities for improvement or new product development.
- Lead cross-functional teams comprising R&D, engineering, marketing, sales, and operations to ensure cohesive product development processes.
- Manage the entire product lifecycle from ideation through commercialization. This includes defining product specifications, overseeing design and testing phases, and developing go-to-market strategies.
- Ensure all products comply with relevant safety and environmental regulations, including those specific to battery manufacturing.
- Develop and manage budgets for product lines, ensuring alignment with financial goals and resource allocation.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor product performance in the marketplace. Analyze data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify skill gaps within the team and implement training programs to enhance capabilities in battery technology applications
What we ask for:
- University degree in Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical or similar).
- Multiple years of experience in product management within the battery industry, with a focus on lead-acid and lithium technologies.
- Strong understanding of batteries, manufacturing processes, and application engineering principles.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to battery safety and environmental impact.
- Proficient written and spoken german and english skills
